There seems to be an unwritten rule in Hollywood, that if something isn't working that well, then just reboot it - especially if it's a comic book movie. Fantastic Four is to be remade, with the man who wrote Batman and Robin, Akiva Goldsman overseeing the production as producer. To be fair to Goldsman, he's done some solid work on the likes of Mr And Mrs Smith, as well as I Am Legend. Scripting duties this time will fall to Michael Green: a Heroes regular who's been working on the Ryan Reynolds starring The Green Lantern. The first two were basically kids movies; but with a decent director and solid cast something really good could be done with the world of these characters.
