People get most excited when you say you're off to meet such and such a superstar. The real treat, more often than not however, is meeting the brains behind the movies; the directors. So far I've had the pleasure of meeting such innovators as Peter Jackson and Chris Nolan and last week I was lucky enough to add Sam Raimi to my list.

Raimi has made quite the name for himself; people hear his name and - if they know their stuff - think 'Godfather of horror movies'. He's also hailed as one of the most visionary directors in terms of spectacle, think Spiderman 1 through 3.

When I meet Raimi, it's all about his latest venture, Oz: The Great and Powerful, for which he has amassed quite the impressive cast. For someone who's got a freakishly inherent understanding of all things horror, you'd never expect him to be such a softie. But soft and sweet, he is. I spoke to Sam about his fears surrounding such an iconic story, how horror has now become a hobby for him, something he'll do to unwind after a big blockbuster such as Oz and what we can expect from the highly anticipated Evil Dead remake.

Career defining moment, me thinks!

Enjoy!

Oz hits Irish cinemas on Friday March 8th.
