Elizabeth Taylor has passed away from heart failure at the age of 79.
The legendary Cleopatra actress has starred in some of the most popular films of all time including, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? She last worked voicing a character in the animated TV series, God, the Devil and Bob in 2001, but rarely appeared on film in the latter part of her life. Her last theatrical release was The Flintstones movie in 1994. Her son, Michael Wilding released this statement: "My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humour, and love. Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world."
In addition to her four children, she is survived by 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
