Charlie's Angels was a hit TV show back in the '70s which received a blaringly loud remake by everyone's favourite director with a mononym, McG.
McG's two films were, to put it mildly, complete and utter s**t and spawned one of the worst videogame adaptations ever made, so really, that should be reason to stop the whole thing altogether. Still, this is mainstream Hollywood we're talking about and there's no idea that can't be remade or rebooted if you try hard enough.
It's now been confirmed by Variety that Elizabeth Banks has been lined up to direct a new reboot of Charlie's Angels and Narcos screenwriters Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard to help crack the story.
Tracking-Board.com has it that Janelle Monae is on Sony's wishlist to star, with a number of other well-known actresses being lined up for the roles made famous by Farah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith back in the day.
Sony's obviously expecting big things from this, and has slated it for a release of June 7th, 2019. Who would you want to see as the new Charlie's Angels? Let us know in the comments!
