Zac Efron is to take to plunge into actual acting, as he has signed on to produce and star in an untitled thriller/right proper film thing. The thriller will be penned by Hairspray writer Leslie Dixon, but absolutely nothing is known about the plot at all. Efron last starred in the enjoyable comedy 17 Again, which was a solid hit at the box-office. Whether he can continue to replicate that kind of success as he matures as an actor is anyone's guess. He recently pulled out of Footloose, over worries about typecasting.
