The extremely funny actor Ed Helms (of The Hangover and The Office fame) has signed up for his first leading role in Cedar Rapids. The film centres on a small town insurance salesman who must present at his company's regional conference in Cedar Rapids, after his mentor, who was supposed to give the presentation, unexpectedly dies. Helms as an insurance salesman seems like a nice fit, and his gift for comedy is obvious in both The Office and The Hangover; but he was even hilarious on The Daily Show as a correspondent a few years back. The film is being produced by Sideways helmer Alexander Payne, and will directed by Miguel Arteta, who has helmed episodes of Freaks and Geeks (wooohoo) and the Jennifer Aniston starrer The Good Girl (meh).
