There was understandably a bit of hesitation when it was announced that a new Jumanji film was going to be made – how are you going to recapture the magic of a childhood classic and honour the memory of the late, great Robin Williams?

I’m not sure about everyone else but the fact that Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock, Kevin Hart and Jack Black will be the three leads in the new film hasn’t exactly been consoling…

In any case, it’s happening and will hit screens in 2017.

Johnson recently revealed that the film will not be a reboot, ‘but rather a continuation of the awesome JUMANJI story.’ So it’ll be a kind of sequel essentially.

He announced the news via Instagram alongside a post officially confirming that Fast & Furious 8 has wrapped.

Apparently he’ll have just a two-week break before he starts working on Jumanji.

Say what you will of the film, but you can’t deny the work ethic of that man.
