Genuinely one of the coolest movie stars I've had the pleasure of interviewing, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is in serious demand after the mammoth success of Fast and Furious 5. Now, the imposing actor is being linked with another huge part - literally.
According to Twitch Film Johnson is in advanced talks to play Goliath in director Scott Derrickson's epic David and Goliath film - with Twilight star Taylor Lautner being sought for the David role. Derrickson helmed the surprise hit horror flick, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and was last behind the fairly mundane Keanu Reeves starrer The Day the Earth Stood Still. The biblical tale centres on the future King of Israel, David, who is on the run as the big-ass warrior Goliath has been sent to kill him. I'm sure Lautner will be given ample opportunity to whip his top off.
The film apparently has some of the same producers as Twilight, hence Lautner's tentative involvement. Johnson is currently shooting G.I. Joe 2, while Lautner has action flick, Abducted due for releases soon.
