Here's hoping it's better than the Jeremy Irons one...
Another 'Dungeons and Dragons' movie is being made right here in Ireland. Titanic Studios in Belfast, which also provided the location for 'Game of Thrones', is where the cast and crew will shoot.
'Dungeons and Dragons' was previously adapted into a 2000 live-action movie starring Jeremy Irons, Thora Birch and Marlon Wayans.
It was a critical and commercial failure. So here's hoping this only fares better.
On the bright side, Chris Pine, whose most recent credit was 'Wonder Woman 1984', is in talks to star.
He's currently shooting 'Don't Worry Darling' opposite Harry Styles, directed by Olivia Wilde.
Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are directing the 'Dungeons and Dragons' movie. They previously directed 'Game Night' and penned the screenplay for 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'.
Hasbro/eOne and Paramount are jointly producing and financing; eOne will distribute in the UK and Canada, and Paramount will across the rest of the world.
Northern Ireland Screen Chief Executive, Richard Williams, said (via IFTN) it will come as a “great start” to 2021 following what the he described as an “extremely challenging” year with the coronavirus pandemic.
Williams also said audiences can also look forward to a new season of 'Line of Duty', and 'The Northman', the latest from 'The Lighthouse' director Roger Eggers, later in 2021 as both were able to complete filming in Northern Ireland.
A filming start date for 'Dungeons and Dragons' has yet to be confirmed. It is set for release on May 27, 2022.
