Luckily for Drew it was over Zoom, not over the phone
Despite only being in the first movie for the first few minutes, Drew Barrymore's Casey Becker is still one of the most iconic characters in the franchise to this day.
Barrymore got in on the action of the new movie as she sat down with David Arquette, Neve Campbell and Courtney Cox on her talk-show to kick off 'Scream Week'.
It was a delightful reunion and we got to hear a lot of behind the scenes tid-bits from the first movie. The cast also got to answer some questions from fans in 'Scream' masks. One of which, took off his mask to reveal himself as Jamie Kennedy, who plays Randy Meeks in the franchise.
When asked about the biggest thing that changed their life after 'Scream', Arquette probably had the most profound answer.
"We had a daughter out of it and she's the greatest thing in my life," Arquette said of Coco, the 17-year-old daughter he shares with Cox. "So that really is the most impactful thing that has ever happened to me in this business."
Campbell said, "This movie gave me everything, it was a springboard I think for all of us. Its success really helped pave the way for all of us in our careers and my life would be very, very different without 'Scream'."
Cox, who probably rued that she had to follow up Arquette's answer, said, "well, besides the obvious, I will not go to the bathroom in a movie theatre. I always look underneath. I will not go to a parking lot by myself. And if I do, my heart is racing and I'm constantly looking."
'Scream', the fifth movie in the franchise, releases in Irish cinemas on January 14.
