"A moving picture - at Downton?"
It's time to take a trip to the South of France, because there's a sprawling villa to be indulged.
'Downton Abbey: A New Era' gets a full-length official trailer, which will see some of the characters from the period drama leave the eponymous Downton Abbey for a European excursion, while Hollywood invades the grounds of the titular building.
The reason for the Crawley's departure is due to two reasons: The Countess Violet (Maggie Smith) lets slip that she's inherited a villa in the South of France, the reason for which currently remaining a mysterious plot point; and secondly, Downton has become over-run with actors who are shooting a new "moving picture" film.
Yesterday, ahead of the trailer's release this afternoon, the film teased a new poster for the upcoming release.
Joining Smith in this new era for the franchise will be the return of Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Michelle Dockery, Allen Leech, Imelda Staunton, and Penelope Wilton. Matthew Goode's character of Henry Talbot is expected to make a brief appearance (although he was left out of the picture above).
The cast list of this second movie will also include Dominic West, Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye and Jonathan Zaccaï.
