Jason Mamoa's Aquaman was our favourite part of the Justice League trailer. So much so that Aquaman quietly became the DC Universe movie that we're most looking forward to.
And now we've another reason to be excited about Arthur Curry's first solo outing on the big screen. Dolph Lundgren has been cast in the movie.
Lundgren will play one of the titular hero's foes, King Nereus. In the comics, Nereus rules over an exiled group of Atlanteans known as the Xebel. He wants to kill Aquaman so he can dominate the seven seas himself and also because he has a thing for our hero's paramour, Mera (Amber Heard).
Xebel is just one of the several thorns that will be in our hero's side during the movie. Patrick Wilson will play Orm, a villain who happens to be Aquaman’s half-brother and Yahya Abdul-Mateen will be the dastardly Black Manta.
The rest of the cast features Nicole Kidman as Aquaman's mother, Temuera Morrison as Aquaman's mother and Willem Dafoe as Aquaman's ally, Dr. Vulko.
