This threequel is really shaping up nicely
Doctor Strange and Spider-Man will unite on the big screen again.
As well as appearing in the upcoming sequel 'Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness', Benedict Cumberbatch is said to be reprising his renowned superhero role in the next 'Spider-Man' movie.
Strange will reportedly be stepping in as a mentor figure to Peter Parker (Tom Holland).
It was a spot previously occupied by Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man/Tony Stark and then Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).
The sorcerer and teenage superhero first met in 'Avengers: Infinity War'.
It was previously announced that the latest 'Spider-Man' movie, which is currently without a title, will also see the return of Jamie Foxx as Electro.
The Oscar winner previously played the role inĀ 2014's 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2', in which Andrew Garfield played Spidey.
The return of Electro and Doctor Strange makes sense as the latter is said to be exploring the multiverse (well, it's there in the aforementioned movie title) in the follow-up to his 2016 solo outing.
'Spider-Man 3' will begin shooting in Atlanta later this month; 'Multiverse of Madness' is also due to begin shooting in the coming weeks in London.
It is unclear when and where Cumberbatch will shoot his scenes.
The report comes from THR with no comment from Marvel or Sony as of yet.
Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori and Jacob Batalon are all expected to return for the web slinger's next adventure. Jon Watts is back in the director's seat too.
