It’s looking like there will be a second sequel to Tron, with December’s follow-up to the 1982 original, Tron Legacy passing the $300 million mark at the box-office.
Aintitcool.com are saying that Disney are impressed with the sales of the Daft Punk soundtrack and movie merchandise and are close to green-lighting another film. Surprising news when some outlets in America were claiming that the film underperformed, with a combined production and marketing budget of about $320 million. But it’s still playing strongly into January and DVD sales are sure to be huge as well.
I really enjoyed it, but it seemed a fair amount of critics didn’t with most complaining about the script. Still worth a tenner for scale and atmosphere in my opinion.
