Amy still struggles with using it in a sentence
The stars of Disney+'s latest release chatted all about filming in Ireland - and learning the local "slang".
If there's anything worse than people saying "St. Patty's Day," it's the dependency on using the word "craic". Do we really use it that much in our everyday language? Perhaps that's something for us to think over, as a nation. Anyway, Maya Rudolph and Amy Adams were on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' this week discussing the "craic" they had in Ireland while filming their new Disney+ release.
'Disenchanted' was mostly filmed in and around Enniskerry in Co. Wicklow, which built its own magical set for the film, but some of the fantasy film was also filmed in Dublin and in Ballsbridge. The two stars were joined by an all-star cast of Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Idina Menzel and Yvette Nicole Brown.
Before the "craic" topic surfaced on the chat show, Maya Rudolph and Amy Adams spoke about how "incredible" it was to shoot the film here, with Rudolph adding that the people here "want you to love their country as much as they do". The 'Big Mouth' and 'Bridesmaids; star added that she got to have a pint up in Johnnie Foxes in Wicklow when the pubs were beginning to open last year.
And the subject of Irish phrases came up... which you can see unfold below. We love you Amy Adams, so we'll forgive the way you say "craic," just because it's you.
The premiere of the all-singing all-dancing family fantasy sequel took place in LA last night, which saw the whole cast reunite for the red carpet event.
Catch Maya Rudolph and Amy Adams in 'Disenchanted', which hits Disney+ tomorrow November 18.
