Leonardo DiCaprio is in advanced negotiations to play FBI founder and former director J. Edgar Hoover, in a film that will be directed by Clint Eastwood and written by recent Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black (Milk).
According to Entertainment Weekly, the Shutter Island actor, who I had a chat with not but a few weeks ago, would play the controversial figure in a full on biopic - so more The Aviator than Eastwood's Invictus.
DiCaprio is being incredibly smart about the roles he's picking, and working with Eastwood would appear to be a complete no brainer for him. Let's hope the resulting film is better than the flat Invictus, though.
