While some directors can't get any work (more often than not for very good reason), Guillermo Del Toro has just signed a deal with Universal that will see him making films for the studio until 2017. Being that he's already booked up until 2012 with The Hobbit, Universal moved fast to bag him for their fledging projects Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde, Slaughterhouse-Five and either Drood or The Dark Half. Needless to say most of these films are science fiction or horror in tone as that's what the helmer excels in. Del Toro and Christopher Nolan are the two most sought after directors working at the moment, and both very much in 'name your price' category.
