You'd expect the final Batman film in the Nolan trilogy to have untold, endless millions at its disposal, and it probably did; it's just Christopher Nolan didn't need all of it.
Anne Hathaway, who plays Selina Kyle and Catwoman in the film, has spoken about how "tight" a production Nolan runs and talking about his efficiency. "He doesn't behave like a man who has an untold amount of money at his disposal," Hathaway explained. "Nothing felt like an unyielding monolith, or bloated in any way. It was an incredible, tight, efficient production. We came in under budget and finished ten days early. It was crazy!" She added, "I sort of felt that I'd stumbled into this mythic world that wasn't supposed to exist. Like everyone had given up their ideals long ago in this cynical, cynical world but here it was and it does exist, and now I know it and I feel stronger for the knowledge."
Interesting to note that Nolan didn’t take the piss, despite the fact that he easily could have. The Dark Knight Rises is released in Ireland on July 20th.
