Oscar winning actor Colin Firth has been offered the main villain role opposite Josh Brolin in the Spike Lee directed remake of Old Boy.
According to Darkhorizons (via twitchfilm), if The King's Speech star takes the role, he would play Adrian, the villain who squares off against Brolin's lead character - in a part evidently played by 26-year-old model Yoo Ji-tae played in the original Korean flick. Firth has never played a role like this before, and is heavily in demand after his Oscar win - so producers may be hoping the lure or working with Brolin and Lee is what attracts him to the part.
The film centres on a man who is held captive for 15 years and has no idea why. When he escapes, he vows revenge. Production is to get underway in the next few months.
