Cloverfield director Matt Reeves took some time out from finishing his American adapaption of Let The Right One In, Let Me In, to spew a few things about a Cloverfield prequel/sequel. First of all quashing the rumour that the JJ Abrams helmed Super 8 has anything to do with it.

The writer/helmer told MTV: "It really isn't the moment for (the sequel) to go any further than it has, but it continues to be a priority for both of us," Reeves told a hipster ( probably with earphones) "J.J. is very immersed in putting together 'Super 8.' He's in pre-production and really, really passionately getting that together. And I'm passionately finishing 'Let Me In.'" Super 8 does seem to centre on some sort of alien, monster type creature - if the trailer is anything to go by. Then again, that wily Abrams crew could just be faking left, then going right.

Super 8 is due next summer, apparently; while Let Me In should see a release this side of the pond around about Halloween. It actually looks pretty great, if extremely similar to the Swedish version.
