We all know how utterly shite Wolverine was, but studio 20th Century Fox are looking to amend that by bringing in a fan favourite director for the next instalment. Right now, that director looks to be either Tony Scott or Cloverfield helmer, Matt Reeves.

According to The Playlist, those are the men being approached about helming, while other directors like Kathryn Bigelow ( she just won an Oscar for The Hurt Locker"), Timur Bekmambetov (has experience blowing stuff up with Wanted) and Daniel Espinosa ( Swedish thriller, Snabba Cash) were spoken about, but that is apparently as far as it went.

Tony Scott hasn't made a decent film since Man on Fire, but he is still capable of making a very fun blockbuster. This is the man behind The Last Boy Scout and Top Gun after all. Reeves is a very smart director, but somewhat of an anomaly for a film with this type of action and scale. My money would still be on Reeves.
