George Clooney is in talks to work with Sideways writer/director Alexander Payne on the project, The Descendants. According to Variety, the film is a comedy/drama which centres on a wealthy landowner who takes his two daughters on a search for his wife's lover in the hopes of keeping his family together. It's thought that Clooney will play the husband, while no other parts have been cast as of yet. Clooney is seen as a shoo-in for an Oscar nomination this year, as his work on both The Men Who Stare At Goats and Up In The Air has been praised by critics after screenings on the festival circuit. 'Goats' opens this coming Friday in Ireland, while Up In The Air is due for a post Christmas release. You can also hear him voicing Mr Fox in Fantastic Mr Fox.
