Although some might think Clint Eastwood's final role was Gran Torino, it actually wasn't.
It was the lacklustre Trouble With The Curve, wherein Eastwood played a crouchy baseball agent who's given one final shot at redemption. It barely screened here in Ireland and, to be honest, it wasn't exactly a fitting end to Eastwood's storied career.
In any event, it likely won't be Eastwood's final on-screen role as the veteran actor announced during an event at Cannes that he's ready to step out behind the camera again. "I did a lot of it for a long time. I’ll visit it again someday," said Eastwood, adding that he missed performing "once in a while but not often."
As for what form and where his next role will come from is unlikely. By all accounts, Eastwood seems happier and performs better when he's directing himself, so it'll likely be in something of his own creation rather than stepping onto someone else's set.
