The project will centre on the historical figure J. Robert Oppenheimer
Details for the next movie from Christopher Nolan have emerged.
Christopher Nolan has managed to grab both the big bucks and respect of critics with his work.
Altogether, his movies have made over $5 billion at the box office. His films have also won 11 Oscars in all, though Nolan has yet to earn one himself.
That could change, however, with his next project, which will centre on J. Robert Oppenheimer.
The scientist is considered to be one of the fathers of the atomic bomb, which he helped develop during World War II.
Christopher Nolan previously looked at World War II in his movie 'Dunkirk'.
But what distinguishes this project from others is that it's not necessarily going to be a Warner Bros property, as was the case with all the other director's recent work.
Deadline reports that several major studios, such as Sony, Universal, and Paramount, as well as Warners, are now reading the screenplay for the project and speaking with Nolan and his reps on getting behind it.
The publication notes that the director previously voiced his unhappiness with Warners' move this year to make movies available in cinemas and on streaming service HBO Max at the same time, which may be the reason for the move.
Warners released Nolan's last movie, 'Tenet', exclusively in cinemas last August.
It grossed $363 million, which is the biggest global figure since the pandemic outside of 'F9', 'Godzilla Vs. Kong' and 'Black Widow'.
The latest from Christopher Nolan could include Cillian Murphy (who starred in many of the director's films, including 'Batman Begins', 'Inception' and 'Dunkirk') in the cast. Watch this space.
