The star of 'Avengers: Endgame' and 'Men In Black International' is taking time off to spend with his family.
When you're an actor, there's always a good chance that you may not see another role for some time.
Of course, when you reach Chris Hemsworth's career level, the rules are slightly different. Having starred in the biggest movie of the year so far - 'Avengers: Endgame' - and another summer blockbuster - 'Men In Black International' - it's only right that he take a little time for himself.
Speaking to the Sydney Daily Telegraph, Hemsworth revealed that he's "probably" taking the next 12 months off work and won't be filming any new roles for the time being. "I just want to be at home now with my kids," said Hemsworth.
The Australian actor has three children, a seven-year old and two five-year old twins, with Spanish actor Elsa Pataky. "They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before," Hemsworth added, explaining that they're now at "a very important age."
'Men In Black International' and 'Avengers: Endgame' aren't the only movies Hemsworth has out this year, either. 'Dhaka', a Netflix movie which Hemsworth is a producer on, is also set to land this year. On top of that, Hemsworth also filmed a cameo for 'Jay and Silent Bob Reboot', Kevin Smith's latest movie.
If and when he does return to the screen, chances are it'll most likely be for the long-awaited Hulk Hogan biopic, which will be directed by Todd Phillips. For now, he's due some time off and why not? It's not like there's going to be another 'Avengers' movie any time soon and 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3' is still a long while off yet.
You earned it, Chris Hemsworth. Enjoy watching 'Home & Away' during the day and not having to keep the abs on display all the time.
