He's spent the last few years breaking hearts on the big screen but now Channing Tatum wants to take a break and get behind the camera. The Magic Mike star says Steven Soderbergh inspired him on set, so he wants to start directing in 2013. We're not quite sure how we feel about that one.
Entertainment Weekly says Channing has teamed up with Magic Mike screenwriter Reid Carolin and the pair are set to start producing projects next year. "(Reid and I) have about three to four ideas that we love that are all in the hopper. By the end of next year, we're going to shut things down and write the first thing that we're going to direct", Tatum explained. "We're going to be like, 'Alright, no more acting parts for a minute, let's take a few [moments] and really get caring about that section of our career'."
There's no need to fret now lads (and ladies), Channing will still be on the big screen next year with White House Down and G.I Joe Retaliation both set for release in 2013. And sure isn't he apparently planning a Magic Mike sequel?
Movie Ed Caroline will be more than happy to rate his efforts, provided he directs with his top off.
