Variety announced that Rebecca Hall will play one of the leading roles of the upcoming film's cast.

She joins Millie Bobby Brown, who featured in the 'Godzilla: King Of The Monsters' trailer earlier this year.

The cast also includes Alexander Skarsgard, 'Deadpool 2' actor Julian Dennison, and 'Atlanta' star Brian Tyree Henry.

Adam Wingard directs.

Plot details have been vague, though we know it consists of a showdown between the two iconic monsters.

So far, Legendary's cinematic universe has consisted of the 2014 film 'Godzilla' and 2017's 'Kong: Skull Island.' The former was directed by Gareth Edwards and starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Bryan Cranston. 'Skull Island' starred Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson.

'Godzilla' (2014)

'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' is a direct sequel to the former and the next monsterverse movie fans will see. It stars Brown, Kyle Chandler, and Vera Farmiga, and is scheduled for release in May 2019.

'Godzilla vs. Kong' hits theaters on May 22, 2020.
