The very talented Casey Affleck has been veering towards the dark side with his majority of roles lately, but proved he can do the subtle heroics with his excellent performance in Gone Baby Gone. Next, he just might be going a bit more commercial.
According to The Hollywood Reporter by way of Darkhorizons.com, Affleck will star in The F Word, an adaptation of the play, Cigars and Toothpaste. Ben's bro would play a chap who falls for a young woman but hides his attraction for her until she reciprocates. In Search of a Midnight Kiss director Alex Holdridge will be calling the shots.
I don't know the play, but would love to see Affleck in more mainstream material. Granted, he's great in what he's doing now, but the man has Oscar written all over him with the right role.
