News emerged today that Carl Reiner passed away on Monday night.
Carl Reiner was an actor, comedian, writer, director and producer.
He played Saul Bloom in 'Ocean's Eleven' opposite George Clooney and Brad Pitt, returning for its two sequels. His last role was the voice of Carl Reineroceros in 'Toy Story 4'.
He also did voice work for shows like 'Family Guy,' 'American Dad,' 'King of the Hill,' and 'Bob’s Burgers.'
Reiner's career kicked off in the 1950s when he co-wrote and acted on the sketch comedy series 'Caesar's Hour' and the variety programme 'Your Show of Shows'.
One of his most famous sketches is "2000 Year Old Man", which he played opposite Mel Brooks. He co-starred in 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World' in 1963.
Reiner was also renowned as the creator of 'The Dick Van Dyke Show'. He co-wrote and directed Steve Martin in 'The Jerk'.
His children are also famous - actor-director Rob Reiner, author Annie Reiner, and artist Lucas Reiner. He's the grandson of actress Tracy Reiner.
Carl Reiner was 98. He died of natural causes at his home in Beverly Hills, his assistant Judy Nagy confirmed.
