Unsurprisingly, Bruno has spent the weekend perched atop the box office. The Austrian fashionista sold somewhere in the region of €40 million worth of tickets last week - a very solid figure for an R-Rated comedy (rated 16 in Ireland). However, it remains to be seen whether Bruno will have the lasting power of his Kazakhstani cousin Borat, whose film went from strength to strength over a few consecutive weekends thanks to its excellent reviews and voracious word of mouth recommendations. Bruno suffered a rather dramatic Saturday drop-off, as it faced strong competition from Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Elsewhere, the second Transformers movie passed the $700 million worldwide figure and Johnny Depp's Public Enemies suffered a 44% decline in ticket sales compared to its previous week.
