Just over 24 hours after allegations broke of sexual harassment and misconduct against Brett Ratner, the director-producer has decided to "personally step away" from his activities with Warner Bros.
In a statement released to media late last night, Ratner said that he doesn't "want to have any possible negative impact to the studio until these personal issues are resolved." The finance and production company that Ratner started with billionaire James Packer and Trump henchman / Secretary of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin, RatPac-Dune Entertainment, has been involved with almost all of Warner Bros' production slate since 2013 - beginning with Alfonoso Cuaron's Gravity.
This year alone saw the likes of CHiPs, Geostorm, Dunkirk, Wonder Woman, The Lego Ninjago Movie, and the Lego Batman Movie carry Ratner as an executive producer and it's likely that he'll retain executive producer credit on Justice League, The Disaster Artist and 2018's Ready Player One as well.
Six women - including actresses Olivia Munn, Natasha Henstridge and Katharine Towne - came forward to the LA Times to accuse Ratner of sexual harassment and misconduct, with several of the incidents taking place on the set of his movies. Ratner has denied or disputed all of the allegations.
