The Apple Originals film will hit the big screen next June
Formula 1 is having a bit of a moment in recent years - largely thanks to 'Drive to Survive'.
The Netflix series made F1 fans out of the most apathetic viewers, opening the doors to the glitzy world and showing what happens behind the scenes - and make superstars of its drivers, in the process.
Although there have been various F1 films over the years, it seems that the forthcoming as-yet-untitled movie starring Brad Pitt may be the biggest one yet.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski ('Top Gun: Maverick') and financed by Apple, the film has generated buzz for quite some time, with Pitt seeing filming on the grid of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone last year, as well as at other F1 races.

Now, it has been revealed that the film will, in fact, be released in cinemas on June 27th 2025 - following the same path as other Apple Original films like 'Killers of the Flower Moon' and 'Napoleon', which hit the big screen before being made available on the streamer. Warner Bros. will handle the cinema release worldwide.
The film sees Pitt star alongside British actor Damson Idris, and counts the likes of Lewis Hamilton amongst its producers. It is "set in the exhilarating and cinematic world of Formula 1 and will immerse audiences in the spectacle of the most popular annual sports series, celebrating the skill and heroism of the drivers while showcasing the incredible challenge of competition in Formula 1," according to Apple.
"The feature will see Brad Pitt star as a former driver who returns to Formula 1, alongside Damson Idris as his rookie team-mate at APXGP, a fictional team on the grid, battling against the sport's drivers and teams."
