James Bond is back and he's bringing an Oscar winning director with him.
It has been confirmed that the 23rd Bond film will shoot later in the year for a release in November of 2012, with Daniel Craig returning as 007 and American Beauty helmer, Sam Mendes directing. The script has been penned by regular series scribes, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, while Gladiator writer, John Logan will also contribute. There had been rumours that the film might not happen for years due to the financial woes of MGM, with Mendes circling other projects but eventually staying on board.
Craig and Mendes have worked together before on the underrated Road to Perdition, so it'll be interesting to see if the director gets to stamp his style on the franchise. Start getting excited... now.
