The 2003 film is regularly cited as one of the worst ever made
We already know that Bob Odenkirk of 'Better Call Saul' and 'Breaking Bad' fame is a hell of an actor.
Even so, it's hard to say whether his latest role - a remake of Tommy Wiseau's 2003 cult favourite 'The Room' - will be a challenge or a breeze for him.
The film is regularly cited as one of the worst films ever made, lampooned for its bad acting, bad script and bad... everything, yet has become a sensation nonetheless. James Franco's 2017 feature film 'The Disaster Artist' told the story of the film's making, and was based on the memoir of the same title by its star Greg Sestero.
News of the remake broke yesterday, but Odenkirk himself has confirmed that it's happening; he will play the role of Johnny, originally portrayed by Tommy Wiseau.
Further details have since emerged, most notably that it is was mostly filmed on greenscreen, and it's being made by Acting for a Cause - an organisation that raises money for various charities. The remake will be directed by Brando Crawford, the founder of Acting for a Cause, and will also star Bella Heathcote as love interest Lisa and and Crawford as Mark.
Photos shared by Crawford show Greg Sestero on the set, but apparently Tommy Wiseau was not aware of the production before yesterday.
