The production of The Rhythm Section, a new spy thriller starring Blake Lively and directed by The Handmaid's Tale Reed Morano, has shut down.

According to THR, the production crew has been told to find other work following an on-set hand injury sustained by Lively during filming here in Dublin. While it was believed that production had restarted on the film at the beginning of the year, it now appears that it has been shut down as, according to THR's sources, the surgery which took place on Lively's hand didn't take and a second operation is needed.

The film, which was produced by James Bond franchise holders EON Productions, was approximately halfway through filming when Lively was injured during a stunt scene in Dublin. With an original release date of February 22nd, 2019, it's now unclear if the film will make that release date as it's understood production could be shuttered for at least five months, if it even resumes at all.

We've contacted the on-set publicists here in Dublin for further comment and we'll update when it arrives.
