Billy Crystal will once again host The Academy Awards, he announced via his twitter.
Crystal quickly replaced Eddie Murphy as the host of the 2012 ceremony when Murphy resigned for the gig a couple of days after his producer, Brett Ratner, was forced to give up the producing job after a series of dodgy comments. Crystal made an appearance at the 2011 Oscars, which was seen by many critics as a bit of a disaster. The hosts, Anne Hathaway and James Franco never synced; and when the When Harry Met Sally turned up, twitter went crazy with "stay there" comments.
He's still a hugely popular entertainer in Hollywood, but it's hardly the hip angle producers wanted when they hired Franco. I would've loved to see Ricky Gervais take on the job - but I wanna hear him live podcast it with Louis CK more.
