Gael Garcia Bernal is not the first name that would come to mind if you were looking for a co-star for Kate Hudson; yet the Mexican actor has signed on to appear in Earthbound, which is being loosely described as a "romantic comedy" alongside Goldie Jr. Now, it may be just that, but given that this is being directed by Nicole Kassell, who also helmed the searing piece of cinema that was The Woodsman, it might not be as straightforward. According to, the very funny, Helen O Hara at Empire Magazine, the film is about a terminally ill woman who falls in love with her doctor. Given the director, I'm not expecting a miracle cure here. Seek out The Woodsman if you haven't seen it, though; truly stunning performance from Kevin Bacon.
