There are internet rumours, fuelled by a piece in Variety, that Warner Bros want Ben Affleck to direct their Justice League movie.
Deadline.com have since rubbishing the claims saying Affleck may take a meeting (at best) about helming the DC Comics version of The Avengers but that there's nothing else to it. They also point out that Affleck is now firmly the go-to director at the studio after Chris Nolan. Warner offer everything to the Dark Knight director first, then Affleck and apparently then Harry Potter stalwart David Yates. That's not to say that Affleck couldn’t end up helming the film, it just doesn't seem to be the type of movie that he'd take on. His latest film Argo, which is released next month, is based on a true story of American hostages in Iran, and government agents acting as a film crew trying to get them out of there. Affleck also stars in that drama and has reportedly said that he'd only really direct productions with starring roles for himself - so unless he fancies playing Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman, that mightn’t work out too well for a happy ending to this story.
Regardless, Warner are very keen to make this movie happen - with or without one of their "big three" helmers.
