Ben Affleck's career resurgence looks set to continue, as the Oscar winner has signed on to star in Nathan Decker - a comedy about a morally corrupt politician, says The Hollywood Reporter. Affleck replaces Tom Cruise who was the first name attached to the project.

After Affleck's success with childhood friend Matt Damon with the outstanding Good Will Hunting, their career paths diverged with Damon becoming one of Hollywood's biggest stars in films like the Bourne series, Saving Private Ryan, The Talented Mr Ripley and True Grit while Affleck stumbled through donkeys like Pearl Harbour, Daredevil and Armageddon. Recently, though, Affleck has enjoyed continued commercial success with excellent work as a director and actor in films like The Town and Gone, Baby, Gone.
