It looks like Michael Bay's next project won't be Transformers 3, as he will reportedly do something "considerably smaller in scale" instead. According to Slashfilm, Bay will helm Pain and Gain, which is described as "a mixture of Fargo and Pulp Fiction" or "Point Break with bodybuilders" - we're going for the latter, at best. It will not be an action film, and apparently only has one sequence, a car crash, that could be seen as actiony at all. Bay describes it as more of a "dark and comedic character piece," an area he is most definitely not known for. Still, a story of bodybuilding bank robbers sounds like it could do with the usual Bay injection of testosterone, and the man shoots a striking looking picture. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is due out in June, and Steven Spielberg has already called it Bay's "best film."
