Quentin Tarantino had the biggest opening weekend of his career, as his World War 2 epic, Inglourious Basterds coined a hugely impressive $37 million to top the charts, and give The Weinstein Company a much needed hit after a series of flops. Tarantino's mate, Robert Rodriguez, wasn't as lucky, as his kiddie effort, Shorts, bombed, taking only $6.6 million. The success of Basterds is being put down to the pairing of Pitt and Tarantino, for the first time since True Romance, and strong reviews. It's good fun - well worth checking out if you're heading to the cinema this week.
