The BAFTA nominations are out - here's the Irish hopefuls we're rooting for.
This year's BAFTA nominations have been announced, with a number of Irish hopeful in the running.
Cartoon Saloon's 'Wolfwalkers' is storming its way through awards season, with another nomination for Best Animated Feature to add to its tally. With the Oscar nominations due out next week, the odds are in its favour for both another nomination and a win for 'Wolfwalkers' in the months to come.
'Calm With Horses' picked up a total of four nominations, putting it level with 'Another Round', 'Judas & The Black Messiah', and 'News of the World'. Niamh Algar and Barry Keoghan both picked up nominations for Best Supporting Actress and Actor, while the movie itself picked up Outstanding British Film and Best Casting awards.
The big winners in nominations with BAFTA, however, was 'Nomadland' and 'Rocks', both of which picked up seven nominations each, while 'Minari', 'Promising Young Woman', 'Mank' and 'The Father' picked up six nominations each. 'Nomadland' already is the strong favourite to secure the win for Best Picture, and is heavily tipped for the Oscars too.
