It's closing in on the records set by 'Avatar' in just two weeks of release.
In its second weekend of release, 'Avengers: Endgame' has crossed $2 billion box office at the global box office.
The movie has already smashed both global and Irish box office records. 'Avengers: Endgame' broke the Irish record for opening weekend and single-day opening across the UK and Ireland.
'Avengers: Endgame' needs to make €854,000 before the end of its run in Irish cinemas to topple the record set by 'Beauty and the Beast' and its €5.3 million haul. Seeing as how 'Avengers: Endgame' cleared €4.46 million in one weekend, indications are it'll crack the record this weekend.
So far, 'Avengers: Endgame' was the fifth highest-grossing movie of all time globally in just one weekend at the box office, and has now jumped to second place and defeated 'Titanic' and 'The Force Awakens' in the process, topping out at $2.16 billion worldwide.
In the US, the movie shot past $500 million this weekend. Excluding the US, 'Avengers: Endgame' now holds the record for third-highest grossing movie of all time - again, all in the space of a single weekend. When this weekend's figures come in, it's expected to top this record as well.
