The early critical response to James Cameron's first film in 12 years, Avatar, so far, is universally positive.
Most of the reviews have come from the UK, but hugely influential trade papers Variety and The Hollywood Reporter are in agreement that the spectacle on show is nothing short of stunning. I've seen the film and have to agree with the critical masses thus far. It's a truly epic experience, but hardly a life-changing one - nor was it intended to be.
