Armie Hammer is being considered for the role of Batman in the forthcoming 'Justice League' movie.

Hammer is said to be the top pick on the Warner Bros and Dc Entertainment film wishlist. It has been rumoured that he might get the chance to play the caped crusader this time round as Warner are impressed by the young actor who has since starred in The Social Network, Mirror Mirror and is soon to star alongside Johnny Depp in The Lone Ranger.

The star was meant to play Batman in Justice League America directed by George Miller but the project never happened. Speaking about the doomed project Hammer told MTV 'We were about to start shooting when the writer's strike happened at the end of 2007, and then the Australian government denied a 40% tax rebate that they thought they were going to have, so a lot of things just when wrong, he explained.

'It's unfortunate because the amount of work that was already done - I mean, they had finished pre-production and they were a couple of days away from starting to shoot, so it's a shame that nobody got to see all of the work that got put into it'.

Other actors rumoured for the role were Joseph Gordon Levitt and Taylor Kitsch. Justice League written by Will Beal (Gangster Squad) will see superheroes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Flash all reunite to fight against evil forces and is set to be released in 2015.
