The actors starred opposite one another in the romantic drama 'Call Me By Your Name'
Timothée Chalamet was asked in a recent interview about the allegations that have come against his 'Call Me By Your Name' co-star, Armie Hammer.
Since the start of this year, numerous claims of sexual, emotional and physical abuse have been made against Armie Hammer.
The actor denied the allegations calling them "vicious and spurious online attacks against [him]."
He has been dropped by his agency WME in light of the allegations, and he has exited various film and TV projects.
Armie Hammer's former co-star, Timothée Chalamet, is currently promoting his latest project 'Dune', as well as filming the Willy Wonka origin movie in London.
In an interview with Time Magazine, Chalamet was asked about the accusations that have come against Hammer, including those of "Effie", who alleged last March that Hammer violently raped her in April 2017.
Time's Sam Lansky writes of the interview: "[Chalamet] demurs when asked about co-star Armie Hammer, who has denied a widely publicized accusation of rape. 'I totally get why you’re asking that,' he says, 'but it’s a question worthy of a larger conversation, and I don’t want to give you a partial response.'"
The LAPD stated last March that Armie Hammer is the main suspect in an alleged sexual assault investigation. His legal team deny the allegations.
