Kang will see you now
Jonathan Majors' Kang, who first appeared in the Disney+ series 'Loki', is back and he's out to settle a deal with the titular characters.
The 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' trailer dropped late yesterday evening, introducing us once again to Paul Rudd's comedic superhero. However, the man who can shrink down to the size of an ant is a bit fed up of his day-to-day life, namely when he's out getting his coffee and he gets called the wrong superhero.
And so, when he meets the big bad of the movie, Kang, after getting sucked into the Quantum Realm with Hope AKA The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), his daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), he's met with a rather difficult choice - stay trapped in the Quantum Realm or help this time-travelling entity and get out alive?
Joining the cast for Ant-Man's third outing will be Randall Park as Jimmy Woo (who has appeared in both of the previous films and also in 'WandaVision'), and Bill Murray (yikes!) as an as-yet-unidentified character. The actor did confirm that he'll be playing a bad guy, so the internet has been hit with speculation as to who this could be. Corey Stoll, who starred as the first 'Ant-Man' villain Darren Cross, is also rumoured to be returning.
Given that it was Loki and Sylvie (Tom Hiddleston and Sophia Di Martino) who first crossed paths with the supervillain Kang during 'Loki', let's see if one or even both of them don't show up here too. If not, then we'll have to wait until season two hits next year.
'Quantumania', directed by Peyton Reed, will officially kick off Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase Four will end later this year in cinemas with 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' and the later Disney+ release 'The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special'.
Here's the 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' trailer, which is set to Elton John's 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road'.
Marvel Studios' 'Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania', hits cinemas on February 17, 2023.
