One of the most unlikely outcomes of 2013's 'The Conjuring' is that it's somehow managed to spawn one of the most successful horror franchises in recent memory, both commercially and critically as well.
From 'The Conjuring' came both 'Anabelle' and this year's 'The Nun', as well a sequel to 'The Conjuring' starring our own Simon Delaney, so it should be no surprise to anyone that a third 'Annabelle' movie is in the works. Deadline reports that the as-yet untitled threequel will also see series regulars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga return as the Warrens.
The story picks up with the Warrens' young daughter, Judy, being terrorised by Annabelle the evil doll who has awoken the evil spirits in their artifact room. Really, you have to laugh at the logic of keeping a bunch of evil artifacts in your house - but, whatever, Annabelle awakens the evil artifacts and it's up to the Warrens' daughter to defeat them all.
The daughter will be played by Mckenna Grace, who's currently starring in Netflix's 'The Haunting Of Hill House' and also turned up in 'Designated Survivor'.
The as-yet untitled threequel is expected to arrive in Irish cinemas on July 4th, 2019.
