Does Angelina Jolie have the chops to helm a World War 2 biopic? We're about to find out. Based on the life of Louis Zamperini - a former Olympic champion turned war prisoner - Brad Pitt's missus is in talks to helm the project entitled Unbroken. Having made her directorial debut with In The Land Of Blood And Honey, Deadline report that Angelina herself has penned a script treatment to share with industry bosses at Universal. The full script has been written by Les Miserables co-writer William Nicholson.

This biopic, however, is no spring chicken; based on a book by Laura Hillenbrand, Zamperini's long gestating story has been in the works for several decades now and by the looks of it, Universal feel they've finally got their ideal director. Speaking of Angelina, they said: "In her life and in her work, Angelina has embraced stories and causes involving great struggle and triumph over tremendous odds and the basic human condition... She has a real ability to illustrate the strength in human spirit, which will be essential in telling Lou's story of survival and great heroism."

G'wan, Ange, doing it for the geeeerlz.
