The American Film Institute have named their Best Films of 2010, while the regional critics throughout America have also had their say on the year's best.

The AFI, in no particular order thoroughly enjoyed the following.

Black Swan
The Fighter
Inception
The Kids Are All Right
127 Hours
The Social Network
The Town
Toy Story 3
True Grit
Winter's Bone

I would expect the majority (if not all) of those films to feature in the Best Picture Category come the Oscar Nominations announcement.

The Los Angeles Critics named The Social Network 'Film of the Year' as did several other regions, giving it serious momentum moving towards the Golden Baldies. Winter's Bone star Jennifer Lawrence seems to be picking up some notices, but Natalie Portman takes the majority of the plaudits for Black Swan, making her a clear favourite. I'm seeing the latter this week, but Lawrence was incredible in Winter's Bone and, at the very least, deserves a nomination. For the guys, it seems to be between Jesse Eisenberg, Colin Firth and James Franco for their work in The Social Network, The King's Speech and 127 Hours.
